All singers welcome to join us as soon as possible.MIDLAND OPERA, in brief...Midland Opera is an amateur full-chorus opera company with professional standards. Run as a membership, our productions are sung in English and range from popular classics to rare operas.Members enjoy the benefit of a week's production of a fully-costumed, orchestrated opera within a well-appointed theatre environment. Rehearsals take place each Thursday at St. George's Church, Highfield Rd, Edgbaston and there's an intricately-planned production schedule closer to Show Week. Spring and Christmas concerts help fund the operas and keep members' vocal cords oiled, and they are also an opportunity for aspiring soloists to be heard. The company's chorus and principal singers achieve high standards and critical acclaim through teamwork and dedication to the whole project. And Midland Opera appears on many an operatic résumé. Vocal coaching is also available to those wishing to seek development in this area. SCORE REDUCTIONSMidland Opera are most grateful to Cogent Elliott, the region's top advertising and design agency. Through their generosity, we have been able to present one of Verdi's most richly scored productions in a way which enhances the voices of this extraordinary company in an intimate setting. Eric Wetherell's reduction is a welcome addition to the bank of score reductions we now offer for hire. HERE |
