Family-owned Rex Johnson & Sons Jewellers has teamed up with Midland Opera to support what is usually among the largest-scale shows in the repertoire. TURANDOT. A bloodthirsty fairytale set in ancient China.
Famous for its aria 'Nessun Dorma', which has gained pop classic status, Turandot is sung in English, and runs from October 9 to 13 at the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham.

David Johnson, Managing Director of Rex Johnson & Sons and Rex Johnson Online (shown right, with Lorraine Payne) added: “As a long-standing patron of the arts, we are delighted to be sponsoring an event that is sure to be of interest to our valued customers and will help bring opera to a wider audience.”

PRINCESS TURANDOT'S CROWNING GLORY

Midland Opera are delighted to announce that world famous headwear designer, Louis Mariette, has graciously agreed to dress the head of Midland Opera's Principal character, Princess Turandot, with a unique design befitting such a princess. Producer Sarah Helsby-Hughes remarked 'With this most fantastic news, the story of Midland Opera's Turandot is becoming more like a fairytale every day.'

Louis Mariette is a millinery based in Chelsea, London. Founded in 2007 by its eponymous namesake, the company specialises in bespoke hats and headpieces that are magical, fantastical and exuberant. A favourite with the fashion press, Louis Mariette has established itself as the go-to brand for stylists and editors, and has been regularly featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Elle, to name but a few.

Louis’ extraordinary creations have been worn by an eclectic clientele such as Jerry Hall, Alek Wek, Jodie Kidd, Isabell Kristensen, Sophie Dahl, Joan Collins, Dannii Minogue, Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton and Kate Moss.
