Auditions dates are now in place, and applicants are invited to put forward their names for the following audition dates and roles.

All other roles:
The Emperor Altoum - Turandot's father, Tenor
Timur - exiled King of Tartary, Bass
Liù - a slave girl, Soprano
Ping - Grand Chancellor of China, Baritone
Pang – supreme lord of provisions, Tenor
Pong – supreme head of royal kitchens, Tenor
A Mandarin, Baritone .

MIDLAND OPERA, in brief...

Midland Opera is an amateur full-chorus opera company with professional standards. Run as a membership, our productions are sung in English and range from popular classics to rare operas.
Members enjoy a week's production of a fully-costumed, orchestrated opera within a well-appointed theatre environment.
Rehearsals take place each Thursday at St. George's Church, Highfield Rd, Edgbaston and the rehearsal schedule heightens in September/October.
Spring and Christmas concerts help fund the opera, they keep members' vocal cords oiled, and are an opportunity for aspiring soloists to be heard.
The company's chorus and principal singers achieve high standards and critical acclaim through teamwork and dedication to the whole project, driven by excellent and creative leaders. And Midland Opera appears on many an operatic résumé.
Private vocal coaching is available to those wishing to seek vocal development.
